Developing Learning Skills, Emotional Confidence and Intelligence through musical studies is a cornerstone of our teaching strategies
This unique program quickly became popular as the next step from informal early childhood music classes toward learning basic musical and academic elements in a fun and friendly social environment.
Each class includes: Reading notes and rhythms starting with using fun objects and toys instead of notes and then moving toward printed notes; Listening to a lot of instrumental classical music while telling stories with creative movement; Singing children’s' songs; Playing Rhythm instruments; Activities that develop fine motor skills necessary for playing instruments; Fun Homework Circle time and other activities that encourage academic and musical development.
It teaches musical concepts in the same way children learn language: listen, speak (sing and play), write and read musical notation. Children will also work on finger control and general coordination essential for playing any instrument. Musical games, listening to a wide range of musical styles, solfege singing, ear training, rhythmic activities and movement provide joyful learning experiences, which prepare and inspire children to begin individual musical studies.
While teaching musical concepts, the lesson material is organized around helping children to develop general learning skills that they will use beyond musical studies. All class activities use an interactive style to develop:
Level One - for 4 to 5 year old beginners
Level Two - for 5 to 6 year old beginners who are taking private instrumental instruction
This 45-minute weekly class will give your child the foundation of understanding musical language, which will make his first years of learning to play an instrument easier and more enjoyable. Fun homework given after each lesson encourages children to review the material learned at the class.
Classes will include singing songs, fun ear-training activities, focused listening and expressive movement to the music of great classical composers such as Mozart, Chopin and others. Students will enjoy exploring rhythm through the use of rhythm instruments. Through finger play, games, listening to funny stories and fairytales they will learn how to read notes and rhythmic notation, develop coordination and fine motor skills necessary for playing any musical instrument. During these fun, interactive classes children will develop learning and social skills, and improve focus and concentration in a warm group setting free of direct instruction and performance pressure.
